CDM is a consulting, engineering, operations, and construction firm
delivering exceptional service to public and private clients worldwide.
Founded in 1947 with a focus on environmental services, CDM has
diversified into a multi-disciplined firm offering environmental and
infrastructure capabilities to meet new and emerging client needs. CDM
is also committed to continually improving our sustainability
performance in the triple bottom line dimensions of environmental
stewardship, social responsibility, and economic growth. We work closely
with our clients in striving for a more holistic approach to
environmental and infrastructure improvements, creating, integrating,
and delivering the total right solution.
CDM’s
water resources group is composed of engineers and scientists with a passion
for the natural resources that support clean water and watersheds—our
aquifers, streams, rivers, lakes, and estuaries—as well as controlling the
flow of water through urban, suburban, and rural areas. From our
industry-defining water management studies in the 1940s to our leadership in
state-of-the-art projects today, CDM has provided hundreds of clients with
innovative and sustainable water resources solutions, safeguarding water
supplies, restoring urban environments, and improving quality of life.
In Colorado, CDM has partnered with numerous city, county, and state
agencies to control flooding, protect and improve water quality, and develop
solutions for meeting the state’s water supply needs. Since 2003, CDM has
worked with the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) on the Statewide
Water Supply Initiative (SWSI). Most recently, our involvement in the
Interbasin Compact Roundtable Technical Support process is helping to
further identify the “gap” in future water availability and supply needs, as
well as potential projects to address these needs.
During Session 1D of the 52nd Annual Convention of the Colorado Water
Congress,
Nicole Rowan, CDM Vice President, and Eric Hecox,
CWCB Section Chief for Intrastate Water Management and Development, will
address “Everything You Wanted to Know about the Gap (and Haven’t
Been Afraid to Ask).” This presentation will provide a history of
CWCB’s work to identify and address the state’s water needs gap through SWSI
Phase I and Phase II. CWCB’s current efforts to further understand and
address Colorado’s 2050 water needs through the Interbasin Compact Process
will also be discussed.
