- The Committee unanimously supported HB-1333, concerning funding of CWCB Projects and, in connection therewith, making an appropriation.
- No position was taken on HB-1320, which would increase diligence requirements from six to ten years.
- The committee will take action on HB-1332, Water Management in the South Platte River Basin, at the April 7 meeting.
Senator Hodge and Senator Robert’s Lawn Irrigation bill, SB-17, was referred to the Interim Water Resources Review Committee for discussion and consideration. The Water Congress looks forward to continued conversation on this bill over the course of the summer and fall as this was a contentious bill for our State Affairs Committee.
A long-term and cooperative work product of our State Affairs Committee, Senator Schwartz’s Ag Efficiency bill, SB-23, is set to be heard in House Ag Committee on Monday, March 31 at 1:30pm.
Proposed Ballot Initiatives– the Colorado Water Congress and its Colorado Water Stewardship Project are now monitoring two Public Trust initiatives. Proposed Initiative 103, Public Trust Resources (filed by Philip Doe and Barbara Mills-Bria) is up for Title Board Setting on April 16. Proposed Initiative 115, Environmental Rights (filed by Caitlin Leahy and Gregory Diamond) is scheduled for Title Board Setting next Wednesday, April 2. Steve Leonhardt of Burns, Figa, & Will P.C., will represent CWC on at both events.
