Ralph Curtis is a long-standing member of the Colorado Water Congress Board of Directors and past president of that organization. Mr. Curtis has retired as General Manager of the Rio Grande Water Conservation District, a position he has held for 25 years. Mr. Curtis has served as a Board member for the San Luis Valley Cattlemen’s Association, one year as president, six years as secretary, and currently on the Water Steering Committee of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association. Mr. Curtis has also served as a board member of the Center Soil Conservation District for 22 years, the Colorado Association of Soil Conservation Districts for 15 years and State Association President for four years. Additionally, he served as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Soil Conservation Districts for three years. Mr. Curtis has received the San Luis Valley Cattlemen’s Service Award, University of Colorado Medal, Colorado Association of Soil Conservation District - Distinguished Service Award and the Four State Irrigation Council Headgate Award. In January of 2004 he was the 24th recipient of the Wayne N. Aspinall Award of the Colorado Water Congress.
