In Memoriam -- Honoring Colleagues Who Have Passed

As part of the upcoming Ancient and Honorable Order of the Water Buffalo Induction Ceremony at the Colorado Water Congress Summer Conference, the Executive Committee of the Water Law Section intends to honor esteemed colleagues who have passed, whether or not they were Water Buffalos. The Executive Committee requests your help collecting names of those who should be honored during this short presentation. Since this is the first year of In Memoriam, anyone (not just attorneys) who made a significant contribution to Water Law that has passed in the last 3 years will be honored.

Please submit names/suggestions by July 15, 2018 to either jham@cobar.org or mwg@lyonsgaddis.com. 

2018 CWC Summer Conference

The Colorado Water Congress Summer Conference and Membership Meeting takes place annually, in August, for two and a half days at a Colorado resort location.

The 2018 summer conference will be in Vail at the Hotel Talisa, starting Wednesday August 22 thru Friday August 24. Registration is open.

Colorado Ag Water Alliance Tours

The Colorado Ag Water Alliance is hosting a tour this week on Friday, June 29, about how water is used in irrigated pastures in Colorado! For more information on this tour, click on the link below.

The Kansas Water Congress and the Colorado Water Congress will host their first ever joint webinar!

Join us on for an interactive webinar, and learn the latest on the Water Transfer Rule, the Waters of the U.S., and the Maui Case. Our speakers will discuss the ins and outs of these issues, and then compare and contrast the impact they would have on Colorado and Kansas. How will the latest changes affect us? How is each state handling these changes? What more can be done?

Anderson Farm Tour

On July 19th, Anderson Farms near Erie will host a half-day tour of their farm starting at 9am. This FREE tour will highlight the irrigation methods used for a variety of crops, showcasing both traditional and new irrigation techniques.

Colorado Ag Water Alliance Tours

The Colorado Ag Water Alliance is hosting two tours in the coming weeks.

On Friday, June 29, learn about how water is used in irrigated pastures in Colorado!

On Thursday, July 12, join a full day bus tour (lunch provided) and learn more about Colorado agriculture directly from the ag community. See working farms, reservoirs, recharge projects, ditches, and agriculture along the Lower South Platte. Learn more about irrigation, conservation, high groundwater, return flows, water leasing and why farmers grow crops like alfalfa and hay.
