Colorado Water Stewardship Project

The purpose of the Colorado Water Stewardship Project is to ensure that the Colorado Water Congress members and water stakeholders from around the state are prepared for ballot initiatives of interest to the Colorado water community.

The Colorado Water Congress remains attentive to new ballot measures. Political activism, especially on environmental issues, is increasing. To day, 22 ballot initiatives have already been introduced for the 2019 ballot. To learn more about these initiatives, click on the link below. We have also drafted our 2019 CWSP Work Plan which outlines the project's messaging, funding, and advocacy goals for the coming year. Click on the link below to access this document.

The Colorado Water Stewardship Project guides CWC's ballot initiative work consisting of legal challenges, public polling, and messaging. Funding has historically come from relatively small number of sponsors, but benefits the entire water community. Even though some of CWC's work related to ballot initiatives has been incorporated (and funded) as part of CWC's core mission, significant additional costs remain to maintain CWC's presence. The CWC Board is requesting modest contributions from a large number of sponsors to reduce the financial burden on a few members.

To learn more, about the Colorado Water Stewardship Project or if you are interested in making a contribution, please contact Chane Polo at Chane@cowatercongress.org.
