limit on local housing growth

summary

It will appear on the 2018 ballot.

It would limit privately owned residential housing growth in the city and counties of Broomfield and Denver, and countywide in the counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Douglas, El Paso, Jefferson, Larimer, and Weld, to 1% annually for the years of 2019 and 2020.

As of 2021, the housing growth limitations may be changed or repealed by initiative and referendum. Otherwise, the limitations will remain in effect.

Although not of direct interest to the CWSP, we are monitoring this appeal because it is the first example of the precedent being set with HB-1057 with fiscal impact statements.
