- The Committee voted to oppose HB14-1332, Water Management in the South Platte River Basin, with 11 abstentions.
- The Committee unanimously supported SB14-171, New Energy District Finance Conservation.
- The Committee unanimously supported SB14-179, Flood Debris Clean Up Grant.
Last week, SB14-145, SB14-147, and HB14-1320 were all Postponed Indefinitely, or “killed” in their perspective Ag committees. The State Affairs Committee of the Water Congress held a position of “monitor” on HB-1320, opposed both senate bills, and spent considerable time at the Capitol to making sure they were not passed into law.
Proposed Ballot Initiatives- the Title Board now has a daunting fifty five initiatives before them for the next Title Setting Review. The Colorado Water Congress and its Colorado Water Stewardship Project are now monitoring two Public Trust initiatives: Proposed Initiative 103, Public Trust Resources (filed by Philip Doe and Barbara Mills-Bria) and Proposed Initiative 115, Environmental Rights (filed by Caitlin Leahy and Gregory Diamond). Both are scheduled for Title Board Setting on April 16.
