Water Quality Committee

The Water Quality Committee ensures that Water Congress members are informed and, when appropriate, in a position to influence water quality initiatives on a state and federal level.

Of particular importance are those activities which affect the quality of state source waters, the nature and cost of compliance, and the ability to meet water supply objectives. This includes legislative, regulatory and policy developments arising under the federal Clean Water Act, the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, and their state counterparts.

The Committee tracks actions and proposals by EPA and the state Water Quality Control Division and Commission, while also staying apprised of significant court decisions at the state and federal level.
