2025 Women in Water Scholarship Winner

Dani Morgutia - 2025 Women in Water scholarship winner / Recipient

August 27, 2025

The Women in Water Scholarship Fund proudly announces the 2025 Women in Water Scholarship Winner of its SEVENTH scholarship to Dani Morgutia. Dani works as a water resource analyst at Long Beach Utilities Department while attending California State University Northridge. We found Dani very driven to learn, very committed to Western water issues, and keenly aware of the need for public engagement in effectively addressing those issues.

Dani is 34 years old and has earned four two-year degrees, all related to working in Western water and the people of the West. She is seeking a Bachelor’s degree in public administration. Dani ultimately would like to move into a leadership role at public water agency. She wants to ensure that “all communities are centered in water planning and policy.”

Also active in the American Water Works Association, Dani doesn't fit the “typical” college student. Regardless, her initiative and intent to make a real difference were evident in her essay and letters of recommendation.

Congratulations, Dani!
