​ ​Letisha Yazzie is the Water Resources Director for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe (UMUT) where the department manages the tribe’s water resources in three states: Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico along with the tribe’s six ranches. The UMUT Water Resources Department is a newly created department, created the day Letisha started, May 2023. Letisha received her B.A. in Chemistry from Arizona State University and MBA from New Mexico Highlands University. Her previous experience includes 8 years at the New Mexico State Engineers Office administrating and permitting water rights in the San Juan River Basin. Letisha serves as a Board Member on the Colorado Water Congress for the UMUT. Letisha is Navajo, originally from Shiprock, New Mexico and has one daughter, Mia.
