Dan Hodges is the General Manager for Government Affairs at Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU). CSU is the nation’s largest four-service municipal utility which provides water, wastewater, natural gas, and electric service to the Pike Peak region. Dan serves on CSU’s executive leadership team, providing strategic advice and counsel to the CEO, and he leads CSU’s government affairs team.
In addition to his role at CSU, Dan is the Policy Director of the Colorado Association of Municipal Utilities (CAMU), the statewide trade association representing Colorado’s public power utilities. As Policy Director at CAMU, Dan provides strategic advocacy and association management advice and counsel to the Executive Director and CAMU Board. He is the immediate past Executive Director of CAMU and has helped lead the organization for over 16 years through an ever-evolving policy landscape.
Dan has served on the Board of Directors of the American Public Power Association, is the immediate past municipal utility section chair for the Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee and has been an active member on the Colorado Water Congress’ State Affairs Committee for over 20 years.
Dan is a Colorado Springs native, and he began his career in Washington, D.C. as a legislative staffer in the U.S. Senate. He holds a Master of Public Policy from American University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in public affairs from the University of Denver.
